The Zachariah Family

Pasach Haber (הי"ד)

Zachariah was born in May 1991 in the U.S. to Aharon Baruch and Miriam Esther .
His family made Aliyah in 1999. Zachariah studied at the Har Etzion Yeshiva and then
enlisted in the Armored Corps.

After his discharge, he married Talia, and the couple had three children: Sdael, Yosef, and Nachliel. The family settled in Jerusalem.

Aside from his his studies at yeshiva, Zachariah fulﬁlled another dream and completed
two degrees in Plant Sciences at the Faculty of Agriculture of Hebrew University. At
the time of his passing, he was nearing the completion of his doctorate at the School
of Plant Sciences and Food Security at Tel Aviv University, He also authored an
encyclopedia of the essential topics in the Talmud.

A Fighter Until the End

On October 8, he enlisted in the reserves and served in the Armored Corps.
As the ground maneuver began in the Gaza Strip, Zachariah’s unit entered
into intensive operations.

On January 16, the tank in which Zachariah was fighting was hit by an RPG, and Zachariah and another soldier were killed immediately.

After his passing, in June 2024, Zachariah was awarded a posthumous doctorate
by Tel Aviv University.

Talia and their three children;
Sdael, Yosef, and Nachliel. They reside in Jerusalem.
