The Tamari Family
Meir Tamari (הי"ד)
Meir Yitzhak was born in Tzfat in May 1991 to Moshe and Ariella.. He studied at the local
school “Or Menachem” and continued to the Chabad yeshiva high school in Haifa. He
then returned to home to learn in Chabad yeshiva in Tzfat.
During his army service he qualified as an electrician and worked for the elite Signals
Intelligence unit – 8200, in charge of maintaining sensitive equipment. His persuaded
him to stay on after as a career NCO.
After a few years, Meir decided to enter the private sector; opening an air conditioning
business, which dealt with fixing electrical faults in air conditioning systems, installing
“smart-home” solutions and working in partnership with the Israeli Electric company.
Meir was a dutiful husband to his wife Tal and a devoted
father who was well-known throughout the Hermesh community as an easy to talk to guy who was always happy to help others. Meir built a home for himself and Tal with his own hands which they moved into in 2022.
The Fateful Day
On Tuesday May 30th Meir was driving home from work and was before the
entrance to Hermesh, when car full of terrorists overtook and opened fire on him.
Critically injured, Meir was able to make it to the front gate before collapsing.
He died as he was being evacuated.
Meir Yitzhak Tamari was killed just one day before his 32nd birthday.
Life after Meir
Meir left behind his dear wife, Tal and two young children:
Alma, now 5, a gorgeous little girl who dotes on her mother
Yahav, is 3 and is a sweet bundle of joy
